The print depicts the skeleton of Ouranosaurus nigeriensis, discovered in the Teneré Desert in Niger by an expedition sponsored by Giancarlo Ligabue in 1973, with Philippe Taquet, and now preserved in the Giancarlo Ligabue Museum of Natural History in Venice. Lived in the Lower Cretaceous (about 110 million years ago), it measured about seven meters in length and four meters in height.

The name comes from a desert legend about how Ouron, a distant ancestor of the Tuareg, was punished by a god for stealing a dromedary and turning it into a lizard.
