Tutti sanno che le antiche leggende hanno un fondo di verità, ma tutti sorridono nell’ascoltare questi fantastici racconti. Eppure esiste ancora oggi una strana regione del Sudamerica le cui leggende, tramandate dagli indigeni makiritare e kamarocoto, sono superate in magnificenza dalla stessa realtà.
Queste tribù hanno sempre indicato con il nome Dodoima un vastissimo altopiano su cui sorge una cinquantina di alte montagne a forma cilindrica chiamate “Tepuy”.
Le leggende raccontano che questi monti sono i ceppi di giganteschi alberi abbattuti, in tempi lontanissimi, da mitici animali dotati della forza dei venti e del mare.
